Dress Code ~

Thompkins is implementing a dress code modification beginning with the 2010-11 school year.  The change is not a uniform but is designed to remove some of the clothing related distractions for students.  We feel this will be a positive adjustment for the students at Thompkins Middle School.

Students will be wearing collared polo shirts with short or long sleeves or oxford style shirts with long or short sleeves.  Logos are to be limited to approximately 2 inches in size.  Graphics will not be allowed on shirts.  The shirts may be solid, plain, striped, plaid etc.

Hoodies and jackets will not be allowed during the school day.  Crew neck sweat shirts or sweaters may be worn over the shirts for warmth.  Long sleeve tee shirts can also be worn under the shirts for warmth.  Graphics are not allowed on the shirts.

Students are not required to wear a particular brand of shirt.  They are not required to wear a particular style of pant, shoe, etc.  The pants you choose for your student should be free of holes, worn about the waist and of appropriate length and follow the EVSC guidelines for student dress.

There will be special occasions such as spirit days that would allow for the modification of the attire students wear.
