Extended Day Center: 812-474-6929

The ED Center (Extended Day Center) Program is available for children who need care before and/or after school. Children may attend before school from 6:30 a.m. until school starts and from the end of the school day until 6:00 p.m. Parents are responsible for transportation to and from the ED Center. Any child enrolled in an elementary school, K-5 is eligible to attend on a first-come, first-served basis.

Fees must be paid by the first day of the week of attendance. If children are in attendance only part of the week, full payment is expected for the entire week. Parents are responsible for all transportation. Children in the morning program will be able to purchase breakfast at the school cafeteria. Snacks will be provided for the afternoon program. Opportunities will be provided for study and enrichment. The ED Centers have space for students to do homework, read for pleasure, and participate in recreational activities.

Weekly Rates

RATES The fee on a weekly basis is $13.00 per week for the morning program only; $30.00 per week for the afternoon only; and $43.00 per week, per child, for both morning and afternoon. A snack is provided in the afternoon. Fees must be paid by the first day of the week of attendance. If children are in attendance only part of the week, full payment is expected for the entire week.

Drop In Rates

Parents may choose to have their children attend on a daily rather than weekly basis. The fee on a daily basis is $6.50 per day (a.m. only) per child; and $11.50 per day (p.m. only) per child for the afternoon program. A snack is provided in the afternoon. Late Charges If a parent arrives between 6:01 and 6:19 P.M: •A $10 late fee will be assessed If a parent arrives 6:20 P.M. or later: •$20 late fee will be assessed

Snow/Emergency Days

The ED Centers are open only when schools are open. If schools are closed because of a snow day or other emergency, the ED Centers will be closed. No charge will be made for that day. In the event that an emergency day is made up, the ED Center will be open. A charge will be added for the ED Center Program. If there is a delayed opening of school or early dismissal due to an emergency, such as a snowstorm, the following procedures will be followed:

•The ED Centers will open at 6:30 a.m. even if there is a delayed opening.

•If school is canceled after a delayed opening, parents will be notified to pick up their children.

•If an early dismissal occurs before 12:00 noon, the Ed Center Program will be canceled for that day.

•If an early dismissal occurs after 12:00 noon, the ED Center will be opened as soon as school is dismissed and will operate on a regular schedule.
