Daniel Wertz is located on the Westside of Evansville. Our school has a rich history and strong bond to the Howell Community. Prominently displayed in the main hallway are memorabilia and class pictures (dating to 1944) that tell the story of Daniel Wertz School. In those photos many faces past and present represent the multi-generations of students who have attended Daniel Wertz and speak to the pride and stability of our neighborhood school.

Daniel Wertz is a K-5 school. Our students feed into Perry heights Middle progressing on to Reitz High School-home of the mighty panthers! Daniel Wertz also houses a Head Start pre-school program.

Over the years Daniel Wertz has established many programs to involve families and instill citizenship in our students including: Grandparents’ Night, Family Literacy Night, Booster Club Athletics, Valentine Canned Food Drive, Howell community projects through Student Council, Astronomy Night and Strengthening Families.

Our staff works tirelessly to develop and provide a safe, nurturing, and challenging learning environment each and every day. We strive to live up to our mission statement:

As a staff, we provide caring, positive role models and multiple learning opportunities to help facilitate student growth.”
