I am humbled and honored to join the Evans’ staff as principal for the 2009-2010 school year. I have spent my entire educational career in the EVSC. I began teaching social studies at Harwood Middle School. I also coached boys’ and girls’ basketball for those six years. I served as the assistant principal at Perry Heights Middle School since the fall of 1996. I filled in as interim principal at Delaware Elementary School in 2005.
I am a product of the EVSC having graduated from Harrison High School. My college experience began at Purdue University. I earned a Bachelors of Arts degree with a triple major in education, public relations, and advertising. I received my masters from the University of Southern Indiana followed by an Educational Specialist degree from Indiana State University. I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Indiana State University. I was selected to be a member of the Learning Leadership Cadre (LLC). The LLC is a leadership development program created cooperatively by Brown University and the EVSC.
I have been married to Tracey, the woman of my dreams, for almost twenty years. We were married and attend church at Bethlehem United Church of Christ on Oak Hill Road. We have three children who attend different schools throughout the North district. Our kids are involved in various activities from basketball and baseball to horseback and tumbling. Each is a wonderful and unique individual with different gifts and talents. I enjoy nothing more than spending time my family. It is always a treat to watch each of them do the activities that they enjoy.
Given some free time, I enjoy watching old movies, especially Alfred Hitchcock movies, and anything with Jimmy Stewart. I also collect Sports Illustrated Magazines going back to 1954.
