Classified (Non-Teach) Employment Information

EVSC employs individuals in a variety of capacities. The information listed below will be of help to you as you complete the classified employment application.

Aides/Assistants: Vacancies are first posted for transfer consideration of EVSC employees only. Outside applicants are considered when the position is not filled by transfer.

Bus Transportation: Bus drivers begin employment on a substitute basis. Permanent positions are filled from the substitute list according to seniority. Bus attendents begin employment on a substitute basis. EVSC recognizes a bargaining unit which represents bus drivers and bus attendants and permanent positions are filled from the substitute list according to seniority.

Extended Day Care: Day care aides begin on a substitute basis.

Food Services: Food service assistants begin on a substitute basis.

Health Services: Vacancies are first posted for transfer consideration of EVSC employees only. Outside applicants are considered only when the position is not filled by transfer.

Secretaries: EVSC recognizes a bargaining unit which represents Secretaries. Vacancies are posted for transfer of employees within the bargaining unit. Positions are filled based on seniority, skills, and qualifications. Outside applicants are considered when the position is not filled by transfer.

Special Education Assistants: EVSC recognizes a bargaining unit which represents Special Education Assistants. Vacancies are posted for transfer of employees within the bargaining unit. Positions are filled based on seniority. Outside applicants are considered when the position is not filled by transfer.

Supportive Services: EVSC recognizes a bargaining unit which represents custodians, maintenance, delivery clerks and bus mechanics. Openings for these positions are posted within the bargaining unit. If no one applies, a selection is made from applicants on file. Outside applicants for the maintenance department are considered for hire only when a journeyman electrician, plumber, heating/air or HVAC is needed and will be posted. Interviews for custodians and maintenance employees are conducted by personnel in the Supportive Services Office.
