Message from the Principal .....

Welcome to the Stockwell Elementary School website. We are located on the
northeast side of Evansville, Indiana, in a growing area of our community
(see Directions and Map for specifics.) Because of the local development in our
"district, our enrollment has been increasing.

Our school mascot is the Stockwell "Stars" and the school colors are red, white
and blue. Stockwell is a member of the Harrison High School attendance district.
Our school serves students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Following their
time at Stockwell, our students attend Plaza Park Middle School. An experienced,
caring group of teachers and support staff work with over 500 students this year.

The Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corporation Belief Statements are posted in
every room in the building, and are at the core of everything we do with our students.
The connection between the school and the home is necessary for schools to be
successful.

Our students are offered many opportunities at Stockwell. Currently, the fifth grade
teachers utilize a modified blocking approach with their students. This allows teachers
to specialize in certain subject areas and plan activities across the curriculum. We also
feel this format helps to prepare students for middle school by having them work with
more than one teacher during the day.

The Stockwell family of staff members, parents, and students work together to
make a strong environment for learning. Stockwell "Stars" learn the state standards
in a caring environment, where cooperation between the school and home is considered
the key to a positive school experience. Stockwell students are fortunate to have the
ongoing support of committed parents who work closely with the teaching staff.
Our PTA is very involved with the school, and offers a great deal of financial support
for programs and materials.

I hope the information on this site helps to answer any questions you may have
about Stockwell. Please feel free to visit anytime or call for more information about
our school.

Tijuanna Tolliver,
Principal
