New Sports Request

If you wish to request the addition of a new sport or new level of an existing sport at your student’s high school, please follow the steps below. 

  1. Complete the Request for New Sport form.
  2. The school’s athletic director or other Evansville city school officials will contact you to discuss your request and gather any additional information needed to fully consider it.
  3. In considering requests for new sports or new level of a sport, the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation may take into account, if applicable:
    1. the interest level of students in participating in the sport and their ability level
    2. whether the sport would offer additional opportunity to students who are underrepresented in the high school’s athletic program;
    3. availability of facilities and coaches;
    4. cost;
    5. any other relevant factor
  4. The person requesting the new sport or new level of sports at an EVSC high school will be notified in writing of the determination. If the request is not granted, the person requesting the new sport or new level of a sport, the written notice will include the reason(s) for the denial.
