Teacher Substitutes

Substitute Teacher Pay Rates

Teacher - Sub Permit: $120.00/day; After 16 consecutive work days, subs will receive $175/day plus the retro amount for the previous 15 days.
Teacher - Teaching License: $125.00/day; After 16 consecutive work days, subs will receive $254.10/day plus the retro amount for the previous 15 days.*
Teacher - Retired Teacher: $150.00/day; After 16 consecutive work days, subs will receive $254.10/day plus the retro amount for the previous 15 days.*

*Daily rate may vary based on degree type.

Becoming a substitute teacher is easy!

Complete the online application at evscschools.com. Upload copies of official transcripts verifying at least 30 hours of college coursework
1. Upload a copy of your valid Indiana teaching license if applicable. If you do not hold a valid Indiana teaching license, you will be provided instructions to submit for an Indiana substitute teacher permit.
National Background Check
1. Applicants will be contacted by email with instructions to complete the required background checks. Applicants are responsible for the fee, payable online with a personal credit or debit card.
Orientation
1. Once the background check is cleared, HR will schedule orientation.

Non-Teach Substitutes

Non-teaching substitutes play a vital role in EVSC schools by providing essential support in classrooms and school offices. Positions such as instructional assistants, media aides, and secretaries are integral to the daily operations of a school, ensuring students and staff have the support they need to succeed.

To get started, simply complete the online application and submit two EVSC reference forms. Applications are reviewed daily, and selected applicants will be contacted with easy step-by-step instructions for completing the required online background check through our provider. The background check fee can be conveniently paid online using a credit or debit card.
